Piskopiano Village - traditional Cretan village located in the hills with panoramic view of Hersonissos Port which is located at a 20 minute walk.

Built on the slope of the "Harakas" mountain, with a marvelous view of the north Shore of Crete, Piskopiano is one of the oldest settlements in the region.

In the center of the village, the purest form of traditional Cretan architecture remains untouched by the sands of time. It once was the seat of Bishopric (after which it was named) the ruins of which stand on the air-skirts of the settlements.

A walk around the village will remand a visitor. It is worthwhile to seek out the wall paintings behind the wonderful church of die village and the Agricultural Museum.

On the east side of the village at a short distance, one finds a similar traditional settlement the village of "Koutoutoufari" and on the west the biggest among the three traditional settlements, "Old Hersonisos".

In all three settlements there are restaurants, taverns and cafes that will satisfy every expectation of even the most demanding visitor.

Going down the hill, at a distance of one kilometer lays the port of Hersonisos, where the tourist life of Crete begins. There, you will find beautiful beaches, water sprats, organized fun and exciting night life.

The port of Hersonisos is a modern settlement built among Classic, Greek, Roman and Byzantine monuments.

Using Piskopiano as a starting point, you can combine refreshing and relaxing moments with the golf establishments, the parapente court, mountain-bike ride and walking paths among historic monuments and the unique beauty of the versatile ecosystem.
